Dr. Franklin Lusby began specializing in ophthalmology in 1980. In 1989, Dr. Lusby chose to focus his practice on refractive surgeries and is a LASIK specialist, performing more than 150 procedures a month. He continues to perform PRK surgeries as well as LASIK, Custom LASIK, Intralase®, and more. As a board-certified ophthalmologist, the majority of Dr. Lusby’s practice is comprised of Lasik. Dr. Lusby has performed over 45,000 refractive procedures. In 1995, he was certified by Chiron to perform ALK and took a LASIK fellowship with Stephen Slade, M.D., in January 1996 in Shanghai, China, to train in the latest techniques in LASIK available at that time. Born and raised in Maryland, Dr. Lusby graduated Magna Cum Laude from Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, Maryland. He then attended the prestigious Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California.
He served his internship at Malden Hospital, which is affiliated with the University School of Medicine in Massachusetts. Dr. Lusby completed the Basic Science Course for Ophthalmology at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Harvard Medical School in Boston before returning to the west coast for his residency at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles. Following this, he completed a sixteen-month fellowship in Anterior Segment Surgery with James McCaffery, M.D., at Glendale Eye Medical Center.Dr. Lusby served as Chief of Ophthalmology Section at Glendale Adventist Medical Center from 1992 until 1996. Distinguished among hi s peers, he has written numerous articles that have appeared in medical publications such as the Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, as well as Current Opinion in Ophthalmology. He has lectured and taught refractive workshops for the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Kerry Assil, MD is one of the world's foremost experts in eye surgery. Dr. Assil continues to make significant advances in his field with numerous inventions and introductions of state-of-the-art technology.
Dr. Assil has trained more than 14,000 physicians in refractive and cataract surgery, more than any other surgeon worldwide. During his more than twenty years in practice, Dr. Assil has authored more than one hundred textbooks, textbook chapters and articles on refractive and cataract surgery.
He has served as editor and reviewer of multiple scientific journals and is on the medical and scientific advisory boards of numerous eye surgical companies. Dr. Assil is also called upon regularly to appear on the work news, health and science programs as a pioneer in techniques in refractive, cataract and vision restoring surgery. He has served as the Distinguished Professor lecturer at Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Duke, Baylor, Tokyo, UCLA and a host of other leading Universities.
